When you schedule a free painting estimate with Flying Colors Painting, you’ll receive a complete quote either at your appointment or emailed to you within three (3) days of the consultation. Your painting quote will include a detailed explanation of your project along with everything included to complete your project. This includes paint, labor, and materials.
Once you’ve accepted a painter’s quote, sometimes referred to as a ‘bid,’ for your home updates, your painting contractor will then schedule your project. If your project is time-sensitive, be sure to communicate that with your estimator during your appointment.
Exterior painting projects are scheduled dependent upon the weather and other factors. One of the unique challenges we see in Olympia and Thurston is protecting your home from precipitation throughout the entire process. Because of this, Flying Colors Painting schedules a time to clean and prep your surfaces and then another to establish a start date and timeline for your project.
Interior painting projects do not have weather constraints, so the scheduling is easier and can be more flexible. The main focus is adhering to the project timeline and completion date to meet your needs.
While every painting company is different, most exterior projects should come with a warranty. As your home’s exterior protects everything under the surface from the elements, this is an important element for you to consider as you hire a painting contractor. We do not recommend hiring a painting contractor or any contractor who refuses to offer some type of warranty for their work.
For our exterior projects, we offer a three-year warranty on labor and materials. For decks, caulking, mildew, and other horizontal surfaces, we offer one-year coverage. Our customers appreciate this and have found that warranties of this type give them peace of mind when it comes to making home improvement updates.
Every project our team undertakes is assigned a crew leader and a dedicated team. Typically, the crew that starts your painting project is involved throughout the entire process and sees it to completion.
Your crew leader reports directly to our project manager who visits every job site once a week. This is our way of ensuring that any concerns or issues are addressed promptly to keep your project on track. We keep an open line of communication with our clients. We accommodate all preferred forms of contact to keep our clients updated, including phone calls, emails, texts, and in-person updates.
Animals are important members of our families, and our team is happy to work around your furry friends. While it is best to secure your pet in an area away from surfaces getting painted, some choose to board their pet during their home updates. During the painting process, be mindful of animals that are prone to wandering and keep them secured in a comfortable space as our crew may often need to take trips in and out of your home frequently.
If a project spans multiple days, there is an end-of-day clean-up process our team follows. We clean and consolidate our tools and materials each day. A small staging area is required in these instances for our supplies to be left on site. All garbage is taken away with our crew and is disposed of at our company dumpster.
